By using the Wildlife Rescue App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect data necessary to support wildlife rescue efforts and improve user experience. This includes:
a. User Information
When you register or use the app:
- Name
- Phone Number (used for signup verification)
- Date of Birth (used strictly for age verification — the app is for users aged 18 and above)
b. Wildlife Emergency Reports
When submitting a report, you may provide:
- Photos (captured directly within the app)
- Text description of the situation
- Location data — only if you choose to allow it at the time of complaint submission. The app does not collect location data in the background or without user initiation.
c. Offline Data Handling
If you are in a low-connectivity area, your report is stored securely on your device and automatically synced when internet connectivity is restored.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly for the following purposes:
- To verify users and restrict access to individuals aged 18 or older
- To process and manage wildlife emergency complaints
- To provide real-time alerts to authorized wildlife response teams
- To sync and process offline complaints accurately
- To analyze anonymized data to improve our services and conservation efforts
We do not use your personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Data Retention Policy
- Wildlife emergency reports and associated data are stored for a maximum of two (2) months after the issue has been resolved.
- User account data is stored as long as the account remains active.
- You may delete your account at any time through the app, which will also permanently erase your personal information and any remaining reports linked to your account.
4. Your Rights
As a user, you have the right to:
- Access the data associated with your account
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Contact us for clarification about how your data is being used
We aim to process all requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable laws.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to safeguard your data:
- All data is securely stored using Google Firebase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider
- Data is encrypted during transmission and storage
- Offline data is protected using integrity-checked queues and background syncing mechanisms
- Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel only
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or disclose your personal data to third parties.
Your data is shared only with authorized wildlife response and conservation authorities, strictly for the purpose of addressing and resolving the reported emergencies.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Wildlife Rescue App is intended for users aged 18 and above only.
We do not knowingly collect or store data from individuals under the age of 18. If we discover a minor has registered, their data will be deleted promptly.
8. Legal Basis and Jurisdiction
This app operates under and complies with the laws of Pakistan, including:
- The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016
- Any future national data protection laws introduced in Pakistan
We strive to follow responsible data practices aligned with international privacy standards where applicable.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When updates are made, users will be notified through the app.
